Denver-area buyers now are placing lots of value on “fresh and new” — the qualities they sense between homes built now and ones built 15 years ago.
That perception is driving loads of traffic this new year in The Meadows at Castle Rock, a popular 20-year-old master-planned community with 24 miles of trails and over 1,000 acres of parks, but few new homes.
KB Home’s Panorama at Castle Rock is one of the last places that Meadows homeowners can move up to a new single-family design close to the amenities that they’ve grown accustomed to a — including two rec centers and popular Douglas County Schools.
Along with younger buyers wanting in, traffic at Panorama comes from older neighborhoods in The Meadows, where homes don’t show the wide-open interiors, high ceilings and Energy Star features that these do.
I rode along with a couple like that last week, shopping KB Home’s ranch plans including a roomy Hawthorn model you can tour Sunday, Jan. 26, with finished basement space for a guest bedroom and entertaining area that KB Home is including on some of its final ranch offerings.
You can tour a Loveland four-bedroom model: 2,650 square feet of finished space including a main-floor study, a bedroom-level loft for homework or play area, a drop zone for boots and backpacks between the kitchen and a two-car garage, and a wide-open kitchen-family area.
Ranch and two-story plans under construction now are priced from the $480 — a real price that will deliver a home on one of those final sites, with a wide range of standard features and a few upgrades from KB Home’s wide range of options.
Meanwhile, The Meadows’ value has grown as new Castle Rock parks and attractions arrive, like Philip S. Miller Park with its 200-step Challenge Hill and Adventure Playground with ziplines and a 40-foot slide.
You’ll also see the new Promenade shopping center when you arrive from I-25 on Castle Rock Parkway.
