A Thursday morning crash with an RTD commuter rail train sent a bicyclist to the hospital, police said.
The bicyclist rode around the railroad crossing arms — which were down — and was struck by a passing A Line train, according to a statement from the Aurora Police Department.
Police said the bicyclist had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The crash shut down all lanes of Sable Road at Smith Road, police said around 9:15 a.m. Just over an hour later — around 10:30 a.m. — the roadway reopened.
